It's only business

No interaction from your business partner? Nothing?


Networking works but a not the network. You have a new business partner and both feel you will benefit from cooperating and interacting. All business are going great, you supply and you get paid. You both have each other as contacts on social media. Like and follow each other pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The networking is done and there is a positive feeling that you together can create new business...
You both know that if you are active and sharing on social media, you will create more views, shares and most importantly new business that both companies need. It's basic facts known since many years and should go smoothly, however….

Nothing happens at your end.  The whole idea of networking and create new business is to interact on pages and posts. Naively you like and comment the flow of your partners posts and articles. But nothing happens at your end. Not a single like, not a comment, nothing… Your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feed never recieves a single like or share. This goes on for a while until you get tired of the one-sided attention.

What just happened?  In all honesty, there are multiple factors but the main one is that your new partner doesn't care about you or your business together. You are just one of many ants in the anthill. Your partner is most likely only interested to get more followers, more likes and more business for themselves. An egoistic approach, but a more frequent phenomenon.

Why? When large Companys become really big, there is no reason for them to interact with the small businesses and suppliers even if they are dependent on your product. Why should they create attention to you and lead all lights and glory from their own flow? 

Accept it's only business
A good business relationship is always based on a personal contact. A connection between creatives and personalities that feels long lasting. You like the people you work with. 
Find out who is handling the Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts at your partners, and re-connect. Perhaps it's a new person with no knowledge about you and how you work together. If this doesn't work, step it up a level back to your original contact and possible friend that you started working together with. 
If nothing happens just accept the fact that your business partner policy is to Not interact with suppliers or partners. Maybe it's not such a good partnership after all... After hitting you head against the wall trying, eventually you will find another way.

An old school parallel
Speaking for myself i always stop sending christmas cards and greeting cards if i don't get any in return. This maybe childish but the truth is that i get disappointed that friends and partners that you know och like well, doesn't care about me...
