Future of things

Mainframe computer in the 1970s www.classicpicture.se

My reflection on past and present. Being backwards as i tend to be sometimes, i am suspicious against the all mighty prophets predicting the future as a digital paradise. There are so many issues, dead ends and false promises about the need of having everything digitised and online. It makes me treasure things past even more. Like reading an old vintage magazine with what was interesting then. Or the sheer joy of looking through my old photo albums.
When this picture was taken in the 1970s, the expression: The paperless office, was already at least a decade old. Where we are today, is a product of the science and technology from back then. For both good and bad.
About the picture. Computer engineers processing data with state of the art technology. A picture that has all the important elements to illustrate the technological achievements made in the past. Could be your choice of image in your next article on digitisation?
