Volvo design history.

The internationally known paint artist Helmer MasOlle played a major part in Volvo car history. He was the man behind the design of the body of the first car Volvo produced 1927.  Later MasOlle designed the first classic Volvo logo trademark now visible on all Volvo car grills. MasOlle is represented in Brooklyn Museum among many. He is famous for his portraits of people like George Bernhard Shaw. He was born 1884 and died 1969.
The first Volvo car launched 1927 only found 297 buyers. Volvo cars seem to show up everywhere in tv-series and in movies. Probably the most famous is the iconic Volvo P1800 sports car used in the tv-series The Saint starring Roger Moore.

About the picture: Helmer MasOlle with his wife Aina who also was a very well know paint artist of illustrations to children's books and greeting cards. The attend a exhibition in Gothenburg 1914 at the Swedish school of artists Valand.
