A last memory.

The Soviet union has begun it's invasion of Finland in December 1939. The Finnish people and volunteer soldiers from many other countries are putting up hard resistance, in what later would be called the Winter war. 21 years old photographer KG Kristoffersson is on assignment in Finland as a war photographer. At their quarters close to the front at the Karelian isthmus , a photographer has his temporary photo studio. The three men are having their picture taken. A picture that they would send back home, perhaps to become their families last memory of them. The faith of these men is unknown but it is estimated that as many as 25904 people died during the war.

KG Kristoffersson was one of Sweden's most productive photographers with a unique archive left behind and in our care. His archive dating from 1939, is a great source for picture researchers.
