Balancing books.

When photographing on film, there are only so many pictures you could take with one roll of film. Not endless of digital pictures like today. I remember when my children pretended to be happy to be part of my photo sessions. To make them act up and being perfect models, i said to them that each picture that was spoiled if they made faces, or didn't follow my instructions, would cost them less pocket money. Needless to say they were not happy about the idea, but the pictures got better. That's why i value the old-school analogue photographs. Back then you would have to be a good photographer to capture the right moment.

About the picture. The photographer KG Kristoffersson travelled through Great Britain 1945, just after the Second world war had ended. He took some amazing photographs of famous people and just plain ordinary ones. The three girls are walking with books on their heads in an exercise to improve their posture. A charming picture that i can't resist to publish here.I am still searching for the magazine where the image first was published. Once i find it and can add the caption and tell the story, this great picture. will turn into an ever greater picture.

WW2 had just ended.  Photographer KG Kristoffersson travelled through Great Britain during three months. The collection of negative originals that became the result of his photography, was just until recently never catalogued or scanned. It is a great feeling to be the second person in the world handling the negatives since 1945.  The image is a great example of his work, as he captures daily life.

KG Kristoffersson was one of Sweden's most productive photographers with a unique archive left behind and in our care. His archive dating from 1939, is a great source for picture-searchers.
