Born Countess

Linde Klinckowström-Von Rosen born September 1 1902 was a Swedish countess. Her biggest interest in the world was horses and riding. Her father was very proud of her being his only child finishing an academic education , as a farrier. From being just 24 she devoted her life to riding

Becoming an adventuress 

Linde Klinckowström-Von Rosen made several long rides through Europe making a total of six years of riding and a distance of 12750 km. She stayed in 296 different places during her trips. She wrote down her story in a diary that was published at the time in one of the largest magazines. She wrote four books about her journeys and became famous. Newspapers and magazines followed her journeys and readers were fascinated by the young brave woman.

It all began 1926

Linde started her first long ride this year from Stockholm and reached Paris where she spent the winter. She later returned to Sweden and arrived by boat to Gothenburg from where she rode back to her home in Stafsund.
The second time  she took her horse Castor on a long ride was in September 1928. After arriving to Sassnitz she rode through Europe via Berlin. Through the alps and the Brenner pass and on to Florens. She continued to Rome where she stayed the winter and first in March 1929 started her ride back to Sweden.
1930 she made her longest ride that would take two years for her to make until returning home. After reaching her goal and the Italian Town Turin, she returned home and passed through Hungary, Yugoslavia,  Czechoslovakia and Polen on her way.

Her loyal companion during her trips is buried in the rose garden of her home at Lindö estate where a stone is risen to his memory.
