Vacation is an art

Vacation
Having vacation in the 1930s. www.classicpicture.se

Vacation is an art form. If you find yourself bored after sitting five minutes in a comfortable chair in the midst of your vacation, and thinking of something to do, you are not in holiday mood. The sense of having a guilty conscience for doing nothing is only human. In a working place this would probably get you in trouble.. But when on vacation you need to relax and let yourself go both when resting in the shadow a tree, or in the cooling water of a swimming pool. Give yourself time to push those feelings of accomplishment to the back of your head. Mind you, they will be in front again, first day on the job...

Impressive but not totally understandable.  Having said the above there are a lot of us humans who like to get things done on our holidays. A day re-painting the house is vacation. A few days fixing the garden is vacation. One week of car sightseeing with husband and his mother is vacation. I agree the last sentence is a little bit to much but i am impressed that the people being this way, still can return to their jobs, with new energy and the feeling of a great holiday.

About the picture. The well dressed man in this 1930s image is letting himself go in the hammock. Big feet and a moustache is my obvious observations. One theory: he´s a bachelor doing what he wants this summer day. Or a fiancee being snapped when trying to regain his energy. Odd how a white unwritten backside of an old historical print can get your mind going.
