No smart phones back then. Some fifty years ago, in the 1960s, the every day way of life was quite similar as it is now but with a major difference. The people back didn´t have smart phones or computers. Think of the time they spent together and made something out of the days that passed. Without having to check for updates or e-mails, prompted by a digital ping to read the latest post on a blog. If they were outside the house or on a trip, they were unreachable. If they took some pictures with their cameras, they happily sended the film rolls by post to be developed and waited for the prints to arrive.

What you could do is..  I am not saying all is bad with having a smart phone, just that it manages to be in your hand when it´s not supposed to be there. Instead the hands would be cooking, mending, caressing, clapping and all other sorts of creative things one can do.

Only living it back then.  The 1960s was a decade of buying and throwing things away. The plastic materials were beginning to reach the households. Everything that could be made of out of plastic was a reality. Plates and mugs for the pick nick, radios and gramophones and TV sets had to be made out of plastic to be hip.

About the picture. The young relaxed 1960s girl is part of a photo shoot that probably was used in a magazine for an article on the popular and functional products made out of plastic.
