Once upon a time

Adding to history.

When photographer KG Kristoffersson took this picture in England 1945, his main concerns were not to take a picture to keep for coming generations- He probably only thought of how to get the best possible picture, figuring out where to put focus and witch exposure to use.  The image is a good example of Kristofferssons photography skills, as the light coming from the window and the shadows in the back are perfectly adjusted. We can't locate the negatives' corresponding print, so there is no information. We suspect it may have been published in a magazine, and we hope to find the copy where it was published alongside with the caption. This will make this good picture great. I hope when we connect the two parts, we will have added our piece to history.

WW2 had just ended.  Photographer KG Kristoffersson travelled through Great Britain during three months. The collection of negative originals that became the result of his photography, was just until recently never catalogued or scanned. It is a great feeling to be the second person in the world handling the negatives since 1945.  The image is a great example of his work, as he captures daily life.

KG Kristoffersson was one of Sweden's most productive photographers with a unique archive left behind and in our care. His archive dating from 1939, is a great source for picture-searchers.
